Banana Island Tour

May 15, 2007

(See attached file: banana island tour.JPG)

I am calling this tour as Banana Island Tour, since the farthest island
here is the banana island. Although you can go as far as Ditaytayan Island,
but you will be discouraged because of the strong waves. You will be
wanting to land as soon as you see the island. For this trip, it would be
much much better if you can start very early, say 5am. And in this trip,
get ready to get wet!

This tour will be composed of 3 destinations. Although you can add some
destination here like ditaytayan islands or cyc island or banol beach (any
places that are along the way), you may lack the time to enjoy the 3
destinations.

Malcapuya island has a better fine sand I think. Exploring and enjoying the
whole island would already take about a day. For me, it would be best to
stay overnight here. Entrance Fee here is PHP 150. The owner of this island
also owns another nearby island (although it looks far). It may be possible
to go to that island free when you have paid the entrance fee at Malcapuya
Island.

Banana Island also known as Dicalabuan Island is a more popularly known
place. Overnight is also possible here. Entrance Fee = PHP 150. Just like
Malcapuya Island, it would take about a day to enjoy and explore the
island. This island have more cottages.

Malaroyroy Beach is a sleepy place. I actually like this place because of
the serene atmosphere. The caretaker would give you fresh buko if he likes
you. There is no entrance fee here. You just give a donation to the
caretaker. This place was used to be Sitio Malaroyroy. That's why you will
see traces of houses or structures here. This is part of the bigger
Bulalacao Island. This sitio has a nearby island where you can go there by
passing a sandbar-like path. I really love this place. They say that this
place is owned by Jim Gol (owner of Seadive Resort).

After visiting the 3 places, you might leave the place at 4pm. Just in time
for the 2 hours travel time back to Coron town.

Standard Boat Rates for this tour:
Small Boat = PHP 2,500 (comfortable at 4 passengers) *because of strong
waves, I wouldn't advise to use this boat
Medium Boat = PHP 3,500 (comfortable at 6-8 passengers)
Large Boat = PHP 5,000 (comfortable at 9-12 passengers)

(Notice: Boat designs may vary, therefore the seating capacity will also
vary. The number of passenger I put here is the comfortable number - not
sitting too close to each other - I observed there. )

I can help you arrange you to reserve a boat for your Coron Island Tour.

You will pay the boat fee there at Coron. Consider this as my DIY (Do It
Yourself) Travel Help to tourist like you and me.

Tip: You can save money in boat rental by joining group with others. This
is one reason I put this site - so that I can put together different groups
in one boat tour.

Just put a comment here and it will go directly to my email. From there I
will contact you.
